Lōkahi Federal Credit Union Launches First Community Service Project Under New Name at Celebrate Safe Communities Event
Pearl City, HI – Lōkahi Federal Credit Union proudly reaffirmed its commitment to community service by launching its first volunteer initiative under its new name. On Saturday, March 8, Lōkahi FCU participated in the Celebrate Safe Communities event at Pearlridge Center, hosted by the State of Hawaiʻi Department of the Attorney General Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division. The event provided a valuable opportunity to support local families through our Keiki & Kupuna ID service.
A dedicated team of 19 staff and family volunteers worked together to assist with intake, capture photos and fingerprints, and produce ID cards for keiki and kupuna in our community. In total, Lōkahi FCU issued 122 Keiki IDs and 7 Kupuna IDs, helping families take an important step in protecting their loved ones.
While Keiki and Kupuna IDs are not official identification, they serve as a critical resource in emergencies. Each card contains the individual’s photo, personal details, and fingerprints, providing families and authorities with essential information to help locate or identify missing keiki and kupuna.
Mahalo to everyone who stopped by, and a heartfelt mahalo to our incredible volunteers who made this event a success. As Lōkahi FCU continues to grow, we remain deeply committed to serving and uplifting our community through initiatives that promote safety, security, and togetherness.
