Mobile Deposit (Also known as Remote Deposit Capture)

With our Mobile Banking app, you can deposit checks directly into your account in real-time using the camera on your smartphone or tablet. It speeds up cash flow and saves you time from visiting a branch. Simply, tap, snap, and deposit.

Mobile Deposit is available to members in good standing. If you would like to enroll in the MOBILE DEPOSIT service, simply register through the Lōkahi FCU Mobile Banking App.

To use Mobile Deposit, just follow these steps:

  • Select the account for the deposit.
  • Enter the dollar amount.
  • Endorse the check “For Lōkahi FCU Mobile Deposit only” and Your Signature and Date of Deposit.
  • Take a clear picture of the front and back of the check with the check preferably against a dark background.
  • Review the deposit image and click Deposit!

Your deposit will be securely delivered to us for processing. Funds will be available in accordance with the general terms and conditions of our Funds Availability Policy.

What is Mobile Deposit?

Mobile Deposit allows members to deposit checks remotely with Lōkahi FCU Mobile Banking Android app or Apple app. Members can mobile deposit into their Lōkahi FCU checking or savings accounts. View Agreements and Disclosures for Mobile Deposit.

Is Mobile Deposit secure?

Yes. As always, Lōkahi FCU continues to protect the confidentiality and security of your online financial activities. Mobile Deposit is simply a component of Lōkahi FCU’s mobile app. The same technology we use to protect you and your accounts while you’re using our app keeps you protected while using Mobile Deposit.

How do I access Mobile Deposit?

Simply download the Lōkahi FCU Mobile Banking Android app or Apple app, available for free download at Google Play Store or Apple App Store, then register within Mobile Banking.

Am I eligible for Mobile Deposit?

Mobile Deposit is available to Lōkahi FCU members in good standing. Mobile Deposit eligibility is determined on a daily basis and can be revoked at any time without notice.

Is there a fee for Mobile Deposit?

No, Lōkahi FCU does not currently charge any fee for using Mobile Deposit.

To which Lōkahi FCU accounts can I send a Mobile Deposit?

Are there any limits for Mobile Deposits?

Yes, there are limits to the amounts but No limits to the number of checks:

  • Daily Amount Limit: Deposit up to $2,500 per check; Deposit up to $2,500 maximum total per day.
  • Monthly Deposit Limit: Deposit up to $5,000 each calendar month.

What type of checks can I deposit with Mobile Deposit?

  1. Personal checks
  2. Business checks
  3. Payroll checks
  4. Hawaii State and local government checks

What types of checks cannot be deposited with Mobile Deposit?

  • Any item drawn on your personal account at Lōkahi FCU
  • Any item that is stamped “non-negotiable” whether in print or as a watermark
  • Any item that contains evidence of alteration to the information on the check
  • Any item issued to you by a financial institution in a foreign country
  • Any item that is incomplete
  • Any item that is “Post dated” after the date of deposit
  • Savings Bonds
  • Any third party check
  • Any checks previously converted to a “substitute check,” as defined in Regulation CC
  • Any item that is dated more than six (6) months prior to the date of deposit
  • Any item that has been re-deposited or returned such as “non-sufficient funds” or “refer to maker” or returned for any reason
  • Cash
  • Government-issued warrants
  • Any item (including tax refund checks and other government checks) made payable to more than one party, where not all parties are owner on the account.
  • Any item with a qualified endorsement (example: without recourse, John Doe).
  • Any item with a conditional endorsement (example: pay to the order of John Doe when car is fixed)
  • Cashier’s Check
  • Money Order
  • A Traveler’s checks
  • U.S. Treasury Checks
  • Federal Reserve Bank Checks

How should I endorse checks deposited using Mobile Deposit?

Checks must be endorsed by all parties listed as payees on the check.

The term, “For Lōkahi FCU Mobile Deposit only”, and your Signature and Date of Deposit.

When will my Mobile Deposit be credited to my account?

Deposits made before 2:00 p.m. HST on Monday through Friday, will be reviewed that same day. Deposits made after 2:00 p.m. HST on Monday through Friday, will be reviewed the following day (if the deposit is made on a Friday, it will be reviewed the following Monday).

Note: Funds from the check will be made available in accordance with the general terms and conditions of our Funds Availability Policy previously provided to you, as amended from time to time.

How can I check the status of my deposit?

While in Mobile Banking, click the Deposit History tab, then select View Deposit History. Next to your deposit, an icon will indicate the status of the deposit:

  • Deposit Pending–Deposit is in the process of being reviewed.
  • Accepted–Deposit reviewed and credited to the account (funds may not be  immediately available, check your Available Balance).
  • Deposit Failed–Check will not be processed. Contact us at 1.808.423.1391 or 1.800.432.4328 or visit one of our branches.

How do I view details about my deposit?

While in Mobile Banking, click the Deposit tab, then select View Deposit History. A list of your scanned deposits will display. If you select the deposit, you can view the deposit details, along with a copy of the front and back of the check.

How long is my deposit history available for viewing?

Deposit history is available for viewing online for 30 days with your mobile device. Check images captured by your mobile device are available for 30 days. For deposit history or check images older than their available timeframe, contact us at 1.808.423.1391 or 1.800.432.4328.

How long should I keep my checks after I deposit them?

Checks deposited using Mobile Deposit should be securely retained for sixty (60) days. After this time, the original check may be destroyed.
