Pearl City, HI — March 4, 2025 — Hickam Federal Credit Union is proud to announce that it has officially changed its name to Lōkahi Federal Credit Union on March 4, 2025. This milestone reflects our continued commitment to our members, our community, and the core values that have guided us since our founding in 1936.
Founded in 1936 as the Hawaiian Air Depot Federal Credit Union, our institution was established to serve the civilians and sworn personnel of the Hawaiian Air Depot. Over the decades, we expanded our reach to a broader and more diverse community. As we evolve, our new name—Lōkahi Federal Credit Union—better represents our identity and the members we proudly serve.
In ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi, Lōkahi means unity, harmony, and accord—values that lie at the heart of our mission. It speaks to the power of coming together to support our members, reinforcing the belief that in togetherness, there is strength; in shared purpose, there is commitment. Lōkahi also honors both our founding members, who united to establish our credit union, and our island heritage, where collaboration and community have always been fundamental.
“This name change is not about changing who we are—it’s about ensuring our name reflects who we’ve always been,” said Scott Kaulukukui, President/CEO of Lōkahi Federal Credit Union. “Our values, our employees, and our unwavering dedication to serving our members remain the same.”
Along with our new name, members can continue to expect the same exceptional service, products, and community support that have been the foundation of our success for nearly 90 years. All account numbers, services, cards, checks, and online banking access will remain unchanged, ensuring a seamless transition for our members.
